DOL gửi đến bạn 2 samples về Cohabitation essay trong IELTS writing task 2 dạng opinion esay như sau:
Cohabitation is believed to bring huge advantages for young people since it enables them to fully understand each other before deciding to get married. Do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Agree
Cohabitation is generally seen to have significant benefits for young couples since it allows them to completely understand each other before committing to marriage. I absolutely agree with the idea since living before marriage is both financially and emotionally beneficial.
First and foremost, sharing a home makes financial sense in committed relationships, particularly those in which couples spend the majority of their time together. This is especially true if the individuals involved are saving for a wedding. Therefore, splitting major expenditures, such as rent or utility bills, provides more expendable income for both parties. Furthermore, cohabiting without conjugal commitment is the healthiest alternative to marriage for those who cannot afford the costs of marriage yet still wish to revel in their life as a wedded couple. Unlike marriage, cohabitation is not interconnected with legal restrictions, which decide how costly and time-consuming the legitimate separation procedure can be.
Furthermore, living in an intimate partnership may also offer advantages that have a direct influence on one's psychological wellness. Couples that live together can be benefited daily from intimacy, companionship, and interactions. Specifically, cohabiting couples can care for and monitor each other's behaviors, such as encouraging and inspiring each other to maintain an emotionally healthy lifestyle. Although poor-quality co-residential relationships may cause strain and tension, they typically deliver better psycho-social advantages by providing social support and symbolic meaning to another being. As a result, living in a partnership, regardless of its form, might be the most significant factor for emotional well-being. In conclusion, I believe that premarital cohabitation is genuinely advantageous regarding couples’ financial convenience and emotional health.
Disagree
Cohabitation is widely seen as having substantial advantages for young couples since it allows them to fully appreciate the other partner before pursuing marriage. I disagree strongly with this viewpoint due to the social and legal complications cohabitation may bring.
First and foremost, moving in together before marriage could cause a potential loss of relationships with family members who heavily criticize the choice. When it comes to such an impactful decision as moving in together before marriage, it is important to reconsider the perspectives of others in their immediate community, especially their close family members and friends. In fact, in certain religious convictions or regional social standards, non-marriage cohabitation is often seen as a social stigma and worthy of public condemnation. In Vietnam, for instance, cohabiting women typically risk social stigma and loss of respect from their loved ones. In extreme cases, these women could even be disowned by their own families or have no chance at all of finding future husbands.
Furthermore, I believe that live-in couples are not entitled to the same legal rights as married couples. When property or legal assets of any kind are acquired, complications occur since these couples are only regarded as "legal strangers.". Because they have not made the official commitment required for a ceremonial or common law marriage, unmarried cohabitants do not have legal status. As a result, they are ineligible for marital privileges such as property ownership, insurance coverage, tax advantages, or even child custody in the event of a separation. While it is deeply unfortunate, recognizing that these scenarios can and do occur is crucial for a good partnership.
In conclusion, from my perspective, the potentially devastating legal and societal repercussions of cohabitation demonstrate that it is not a desirable practice for a successful relationship.
